Breaking into cars and other things

I'm blogging on my iPad which is not fun... Anyone else have the same trouble??
The reason for this is that the hard drive on our laptop died this week.... Hopefully they can save some of our files, but luckily (and unusually) I had backed up all our photos just last week. Think I must have had a premoniton! Go and back up your photos now- you never know.....
To finish off a less than perfect week, last night Mark managed to lock the dog and the car keys... in the car.
Who knew that you could google ' how to break into a Ford Falcon' and 23 minutes later you would have achieved just that? Slightly worrying...
Molly survived her ordeal fine, if it had happened earlier in the day when it was about 37 degrees outside, we would have had to break a window to save her!

I've become a bit hooked on mixed media painting demos on Youtube - they're really great if you can't get to sleep! So on Thursday I recycled an old canvas and did a little painting of my own.

As usual I like the details better than the whole!

Australia and the Eiffel Tower

We had a painting day today - a trip to Spotlight to buy supplies, lots of newspaper, old clothes on and we were ready.
Bill decided to go for an Australian theme with cave paintings and native wildlife, while Tom went for a more abstract 'Eiffel Tower with Red Bird'...

I love Bill's line drawings - especially the platypus in the top left!

 Finished!

Colour

I had an urge to do some painting this week -this is 'The Town by the River' (name supplied by Bill..)

And I just hauled Molly dog up the hill - she's got a limp at the moment but I think she's putting it on...

Mural = Finished!

I made a push for home and finished the mural I'm painting at school..

Well, when I say finished... I'm running a little survey to find out the children's favourite books and then I'll add the titles to the books in the right hand window.
I'm thinking it's going to be a big stack of Harry Potters!

Starry Night

After school today, while surveying the mural progress (slow...) - we were talking about pictures we remember from school, and this is the one I remember  - Van Gogh's Starry Night.  There was a print of it in our hall at middle school and I spent many assemblies (OK every assembly) daydreaming about it.
I wonder if it's still there?

Mural Progress..

Spent the morning at school painting the mural in the library - it's going well and I'm getting used to my wobbly scaffolding.
Got very hungry when the school dinners arrived though...

Ideal Bookshelves

I've just got back from visiting a very (very..) tidy friend. I always have the urge to hoover as soon as I get home from her house, and today I also tidied our bookshelves, which reminded me of these lovely paintings by Jane Mount -

They are called 'Ideal Bookshelves' and include her friends' favourite books. I think it's a great idea- you can tell so much about a person by their book collection.
I thought I might do a painting of our favourite books this summer -it would have to include some Harry Potter, the Usborne Ocean Life Encyclopaedia and a few issues of Surfer's Path...
Which books would be in your painting?
