Breaking into cars and other things

I'm blogging on my iPad which is not fun... Anyone else have the same trouble??
The reason for this is that the hard drive on our laptop died this week.... Hopefully they can save some of our files, but luckily (and unusually) I had backed up all our photos just last week. Think I must have had a premoniton! Go and back up your photos now- you never know.....
To finish off a less than perfect week, last night Mark managed to lock the dog and the car keys... in the car.
Who knew that you could google ' how to break into a Ford Falcon' and 23 minutes later you would have achieved just that? Slightly worrying...
Molly survived her ordeal fine, if it had happened earlier in the day when it was about 37 degrees outside, we would have had to break a window to save her!

I've become a bit hooked on mixed media painting demos on Youtube - they're really great if you can't get to sleep! So on Thursday I recycled an old canvas and did a little painting of my own.

As usual I like the details better than the whole!

PPE for dogs..

I am so thoughtful - Molly was looking a bit disturbed by the sounds of Mark chainsawing his way through the undergrowth so I let her borrow some ear defenders.

I also thought it might help her empathise with Lily the deaf Sharpei that lives over the road and likes to come and visit each day..

Dog Beach!

Molly's New Year's resolution was to learn to swim, so today we took her to the dog beach in Fremantle.
With a little gentle persuasion she swam a little bit (with her mouth tight shut and a look of terror in her eyes), before running off to play with two boxers...

Mini Molly

We're all a bit sad tonight because today Mark delivered Molly to Heathrow and she flies at 10.30 pm to Perth!
Poor girl... I hope she's not going to get too stressed out.
Luckily she met a nice Labrador who's also emigrating so at least she wan't be on her own.

Here she is with her mini-me at the weekend!

Colour

I had an urge to do some painting this week -this is 'The Town by the River' (name supplied by Bill..)

And I just hauled Molly dog up the hill - she's got a limp at the moment but I think she's putting it on...

Second puppyhood...

Molly our Big Dog (French Mastiff cross) is on medication for hypo-thyroidism and has a new lease of life! She has reverted to puppyhood in a big way - see below photo...

Luckily it's a very pink ball of wool that I wasn't going to use, but now I'm a bit worried that she's going to start gnawing on the doorframes like she did when she was little...

That was the day we brought her home - she's grown a bit in the last five years...

Hot Dog!

This is our daft dog - I thought she was going to drop dead of heat exhaustion and she refused to move into the shade.. So I threw a wet towel over her and she seems quite happy!

Wrinkles

Molly is not a big fan of winter.
In fact she hasn't moved for three days. I think she might be hibernating.
Perhaps I should put her in a big box full of straw and wake her up in the Spring?

Dogs!

This is our new favourite book - Dogs by Emily Gravett. The illustrations are great and really capture each dog's personality.

And this is my favourite photo of our favourite dog!

End of the snow?

The snow's melting... so here's one last snowy pic, taken yesterday as I took Molly for a walk- she wasn't keen, she wanted to get home and lie in front of the fire instead.
Very sensible.

Molly vegging out...

Molly looks quite unimpressed with today's haul from the veggie patch.. I'm entering 'longest bean' in the Village Show, but after accidentally eating the most promising contender, I don't fancy my chances. The village is full of experienced bean growers...
