Sculpture by the Sea 2014

My only quibble with the amazing Sculpture by the Sea 2014 in Cottesloe was all the nasty little black signs saying DO NOT TOUCH THIS SCULPTURE...
When obviously most of the sculptures are begging you to touch them, climb on them, walk through them, and possibly bounce on them...

I let Tom climb on this one...

Drawing Frenzy!

My colouring-in project at Crab Fest turned into a drawing free for all!
It was great - here are quite a lot of photos -

And a little video I made...

Crab Fest Colouring-In Project from Elli Moody on Vimeo.

Ginormous Colouring-in

Isn't it nice when a project (eventually) all comes together?
I was asked by the organisers of our local arts festival to design a big colouring-in design to go onto 18 MDF blocks -

My initial sketch -

The finished blocks - ready to be coloured in by members of the public at Crab Fest this weekend -

I'll be down there this weekend with my blocks - trying not to get too uptight about people colouring outside the lines...

Blogging from the garden

Sitting out in the garden to catch a breeze - summer is definitely still on...
And it hasn't rained for nearly 100 days.

Noughts and crosses on the watertank...

Pecan Pie - I can't eat a Pecan Pie without thinking of Billy Crystal in When Harry Met Sally!

A sketch for a project I'm working on for Crab Fest ( yes, the festival of the crab) this weekend coming...

Down South

It was a long weekend in Australia.
Something I particularly like about living here is the amount of public holidays - 10 per year (yay!) as opposed to just 7 per year in the UK (boooo!)
Don't want to rub this in even more my little British friends, but one of our extra public holidays is the Queen's Birthday.
Don't ask me why she gives Australia a day off but not the British...
Also we get not only Australia Day but also Western Australia Day!
Oh, and the one just gone was Labour Day which basically rewards hard work :)

Did I also mention that it was a long weekend in which the sun shone all day, every day?

Sorry. Moving on..

We went camping and happened upon Dunsborough Arts Festival and these rather lovely sculptures.
