'Best Day Ever!'

We couldn't stay at home when the sun was shining so we left home at 6.30 this morning and by 9.30 we were on the beach!

As was everyone else...

Smallest Moody said it was the Best Day EVER. (It was pretty good!)

Le camping

A few more camping essentials - extra strong tent pegs, spare guy ropes, wellies, earplugs...
The nights were pretty wild and windy but the days were lovely and clear -

Car Boot Treasure

Found this little vase at the car boot on Sunday - 50p!!

Combe Martin is a village in North Devon - in fact it has the longest high street of any village in the UK (or something along those lines..)
And it was the scene of many drizzly holidays when I was little as my granny lived there. It is also one of my top five beachcombing beaches (the others are secret)
And we're going there next week!

Blue Sky in Devon

We went to Woolacombe in the van for the weekend -and apart from a rocky start when Mark locked the keys in the house and then got wedged in the dogflap trying to retrieve them...we had a nice time!
All my photos seem to be of sky -

Croyde

We went down to Croyde on Sunday for the day, and yes, it rained. A lot..
But that's the way it should be in North Devon - in my family we call it 'Combe Martin weather' after many damp holidays spent visiting my granny who lived there.

If you too love North Devon you can still snap up this Beach Hut here

Happy 2010!

On Boxing Day we got up early and rushed down to North Devon - we had a great week with lots of surfing, rock climbing, getting wet in rock pools and eating way too much...
Happy New Year and keep watching for exciting new developments and designs...

Weekend collage #1

Another weekend in North Devon..
We found a really cool new surf shop in Braunton, and then saw some of their boards in Wave Length magazine. Loose-Fit claims to be the UK's first 'carbon zero' surf shop. I love the design of their website and their boards look like pieces of art.
Ooh, and they've also got a cafe!

Precipitation in sight

Our weekend in Devon started like this..

...but happily improved.
Lots of running around on the beach, finding baby starfish in rockpools, sleeping in the van and brewing tea.

We found a great little eco-campsite near Bantham in South Devon, compost loos and one cold outdoor shower...
