This week...

This week... we went to watch the West Coast Eagles play a night game (they lost...)

I've managed a spot of crochet...

It was a beautifully sunny day in Perth today so we went for a walk through the grounds of UWA and along the river - we asked the boys if they'd like to go to uni there - Tom was keen since there's lots of room to kick the footie around (as good a reason as any).
Bill wasn't too sure as his friends are all going to a different university??
Umm, they're 8 years old?
Talk about planning ahead..

One week left at school - roll on the holidays!

Recently...

I got all excited at finding an actual genuine deciduous tree!

It rained...

I became addicted to Smooth FM...

It started to feel like Winter (sort of..)

Our library started giving away free books!

All good stuff :)

Crossed wires...

Our broadband just came back on - yay!
It's been missing in action this weekend due to this wire...

That's what a telephone cable looks like after it's been chopped in half by a grinder...

Naming no names but...... when you unearth a pipe that looks like this....

DO NOT assume that the wire inside is not important.

Weekend wandering...

We had a little drive around this weekend. It wasn't quite an epic journey to see a rock, but it came close...

First we drove down the road to see the Thrombolites.

In case you don't know, Thrombolites are amazing ancient lifeforms. 

They look like big, round rocks.

Yep - big, round rock-like ancient lifeforms... 

Next on our exciting tour was Harvey Dam - it's basically a very big dam.

Yep, big dam...

Also very big butterflies...

Then we came home and went to the beach to watch the sunset.

Yep - good sunset :)

Today....

Today I finished our blackboard wall - 

I'm thinking about painting...

And reading this - a must-read for any Salinger fans out there.

A Spot of Vintage

I bought these old beer mats at a car boot sale years ago - I finally got around to doing something with them today.

I especially love the Ansells bear and Ann and her Baby Bubbly!

Wasting time...

I'm choosing to blame Smooth FM for the fact that I've achieved pretty much nothing today. It's got a definite sedative effect!

I tell a lie - I bought some wool on ebay, cleaned the bathroom and walked the dog.
Time for another cuppa.

Landscaping?

I really should have learnt from the chainsaw incident not to leave Mark unattended with petrol powered machinery...

               

Our back garden now looks like a ploughed field.

The front garden looks slightly worse.

And the driveway?

I came home this afternoon to find the postman in his van completely bogged in the sand - I had to tow him out - I don't know who was more embarrassed - me or him!
