West
Rather a blurry quote from Tim Winton, spotted at the Maritime Museum in Fremantle.
Things we like about Australia:
The warm breeze
The smell of the trees
The blue sea
The even bluer skies
The only thing we don't like:
Being burgled and having our brand new laptop nicked... not nice.

Freo
We took the boys to Fremantle - I love the untouched mid-century vibe of the Port Authority building!
And the earlier ornate rooftops of the shopping streets

The Fair
Mark's hometown is a seaside resort - it's pretty quiet at the moment and the fair is shut up.
I think that might be my favourite kind of fair.

First Days
Yep, the sun is shining in Australia!
Just finding our feet at the moment - bought a new laptop yesterday so we feel a bit more normal now.
Still hunting for a car.
Catching up with Mark's family.
Getting over the jetlag.
Off to see Molly in quarantine this morning!
Job hunting starts next week....

Last days
It was the boys' last day at school today.. so sad!
They're leaving their tiny 50 pupil village school where they've been so happy, and taking a leap into the unknown.
Any school in Australia is bound to be a lot bigger, but I'm thinking a bigger school will mean more facilities and activities.
And lots of new friends!
Still sad though...:(

Oxford and a lack of tactical thinking...
Mark and I went to Oxford for the day - it's 6 days until The Big Day (flying to Australia day) so we thought we'd have an English day out - and Oxford is quintessential England.
The boat houses...
Punts on the river...
The dreaming spires...
The bikes!
Of course Oxford is full of clever looking freshers this week - I really wouldn't fit in - a five year old just beat me at chess... either he was making the rules up, or I really lack any tactical brainpower..
