I found this card inside an old copy of Sense and Sensibility I bought in Perth last year - I think it's an invitation to a funeral - of the very suave fellow on the front I think. He's very elegant with a little moustache and a cigarette holder!



Inside it says,

I wish I knew who he was - he looks like an intriguing character!

Birmingham 2011

I had a grown up day in Birmingham on Saturday - I met up with a friend from uni and we had a good time reminiscing about our student days...

I have to say Birmingham is a lot glossier than it was in our day - we decided we quite missed the grime and concrete that the new Bull Ring has replaced! (We also started to feel a bit old...)

We had a mooch in Muji and I bought one of these for Tom, then we wandered round the Ikon gallery and quite enjoyed this exhibition- especially the kinetic sculptures which were very hypnotic!

Romeo...

I love the design of the new RSC brochure - the new theatre is now open in Stratford upon Avon- you can see what's on here - I really want to see their new Romeo and Juliet- I've already dropped some subtle hints...

I started the New Year with lots of new ideas, directions to go in, ambition! But I've lost my way somewhere and have achieved absolutely nothing this week..
So this morning I took the boys to school, came home and just sat down with some paper, scissors and glue and made something for me.
I quite like it and I'm going to make it a regular Thursday morning thing - making something just for the fun of making.

I met my sister in Cheltenham yesterday and had a good wander round the Promenade and Montpellier, including Toast which has the best shop interior -


I love all the old doors that make up the storage cupboards downstairs...



And the piles of old books that are for sale upstairs...

And these hand-painted baubles are gorgeous.

Loglike and lovely

For Christmas I bought my sister and her boyfriend one of these gorgeous upcycled candlesticks from Loglike (only their one is blue and spotty)




They have a great website and blog, and their packaging is really cool!
