Happy Christmas!

Our icicles are the biggest I've seen! Not sure that's a good thing though, you don't want to bang your boots too hard when stood under the eaves...
I've done the dreaded supermarket run, so I'm going to sign off for Christmas - hope you all have a lovely time and see you in the New Year!

Winter Solstice

Painting by Sylvia Grantins

It's the Winter Solstice tomorrow - doesn't that sound magical? And there's going to be a lunar eclipse. At 7.40 in the morning - which seems a funny time for an eclipse... If you're up and about, have a glance over to the West where the moon will be going down - if will be visible for longer in the North and Scotland.
I remember a lunar eclipse when I was at uni, and it was surprisingly impressive - it makes you realise that the moon is a big ball floating above us and we are really very tiny little beings!

Deep and Crisp and Even

It's been snowing all day here and it's been beautiful.
Nice that it's a Saturday so we don't have to go anywhere -all cosied up indoors now, with the lights on the tree and the fire going...

Snowflakes

We've got the pre-Christmas lurgy in the Moody household - better now than next week anyway - that's when I move into full-scale manic list-making panic...

Wait..

And this is a lovely blog -

Paper planes and Mince pies

I love this Paper Plane brooch from WhiteSquare on Etsy - really simple but effective!

Smallest Moody and I are keeping cosy scoffing mince pies - I'm still waiting for the Christmas Visa advert to come on the telly - the one at the airport that always makes me cry - then I'll feel properly Christmassy..

Wrinkles

Molly is not a big fan of winter.
In fact she hasn't moved for three days. I think she might be hibernating.
Perhaps I should put her in a big box full of straw and wake her up in the Spring?
